There are a few things you should know about home inspections before going in. One thing to keep in mind is that it’s the inspector’s job to find problems with the home. Having a home inspection without any issues is very unlikely.

At the end of the day, you need to figure out what the most important items on that list are and classify them. You might be able to do some of them yourself, but you’ll want to ask the seller to complete other, more serious repairs.

You’re only going to have one opportunity to make sure that you find all the issues that are wrong with the home and make sure that you are going to get the most money for those items.

One thing that you’re definitely going to need to consider is a radon test. The cost of this inspection is only a few hundred dollars, but the mitigation cost could range anywhere from $1,300 to $1,600. It’s a test I highly recommend.
